The Indian stock market posted notable gains on Monday, with the Sensex rising by 445.29 points, or 0.56%, to settle at 80,248.08. The Nifty 50 followed suit, climbing 144.95 points, or 0.6%, to close at 24,276.05. The trading session revealed a diverse market landscape, with significant sectoral divergence. Notably, cement and auto stocks emerged as key drivers, bolstering positive market sentiment.

Despite the overall upward movement, the Indian rupee weakened by 0.25% against the U.S. dollar, closing at 84.6950, amid concerns over the economy slowing to its weakest growth in seven quarters. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), top gainers included Ultratech Cement (up 3.82%), Apollo Hospitals (up 3.45%), Grasim (up 3.06%), Shriram Finance (up 2.56%), and JSW Steel (up 2.53%).
