Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski praised the suspension of U.S. tariffs on Thursday, calling it a positive sign of the U.S. administration’s desire to ease trade tensions.
In a surprising move, President Donald Trump announced a temporary reduction in tariffs imposed on several countries, while increasing pressure on China. This decision caused a surge in global stock markets.
“This is positive news. It shows the U.S. wants to de-escalate the trade conflict,” Domanski said in an interview with Polsat News. “The 90-day pause should provide enough time to discuss the next steps in a calm and thoughtful manner. I expect a positive reaction from the Polish stock market.”
Last week, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned that new U.S. tariffs could reduce Poland’s economic growth rate by 0.4%.
